Dr. Jim Gill, founder of Wilkinson Animal Hospital and Vicki Gill, founder of Bluegill Pottery in conjunction with the Gaston County U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program, are sponsoring a Toys for Tots Campaign at each of their business locations.
They will be collecting new, unwrapped toys and books during November and December and will distribute these Christmas gifts to children in the Gaston County community. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.
The couple has kick started the program by donating more than 100 volumes of new adventure fiction books to the Toys for Tots Campaign.
“We are very excited about the program and look forward to giving back to the community,” they said in a statement. “We both have a love for reading and believe that reading gives our youth the gift of literacy that lasts a life time. These colorful and exciting fiction books are sure to engage our children in a world of imagination and adventure.”
The Toys for Tots Drop Boxes will be on located at Wilkinson Animal Hospital and Bluegill Pottery until Dec. 15.
